Influencer Invoice Format for Indian Creators (With Sample)
A creator finishes a campaign on time, sends an invoice — a phone screenshot with a UPI ID — and then waits 45 days for payment while the brand's finance team rejects it twice. The delay was never about willingness to pay. It was about a document that cannot enter an accounting system.
This guide gives creators and brands the invoice format that clears Indian finance teams first time, with and without GST.

The mandatory fields (every invoice, GST or not)
A payable invoice needs: your legal name and address, a unique sequential invoice number, invoice date, the brand's legal name and address, a description of services ('Instagram Reels creation and posting — 2 deliverables, campaign: Summer Launch 2026'), the fee amount, your PAN, bank details or UPI, and the payment terms ('Payable within 15 days of invoice date').
The two most-missed fields are the campaign/PO reference and PAN. Finance teams process hundreds of vendor invoices; one without a reference goes to the bottom of the pile, and one without PAN triggers a 20% TDS deduction nobody wants.
GST-registered creators: the tax invoice layer
If you are GST-registered, add: your GSTIN, the brand's GSTIN and place of supply (determines CGST+SGST vs IGST), SAC code (9983 or applicable professional-service code), the taxable value, GST rate (18%) and tax amount, and the declaration your jurisdiction requires.
Show GST as a separate line — never 'fee inclusive of GST' without a breakup. Brands deduct TDS on the value excluding GST, and an unbroken total forces their finance team to reverse-engineer the split, which is another fortnight of delay.
Sample structure
Header: INVOICE #INV-2026-041, dated 10 March 2026. From: [Creator legal name, address, PAN, GSTIN if registered]. To: [Brand legal name, address, GSTIN]. Reference: Campaign 'Summer Launch 2026', PO #4471.
Line items: 'Instagram Reel creation and posting (2 units)' — ₹60,000; 'Usage licence — paid media, 3 months' — ₹24,000. Taxable value ₹84,000; IGST @18% ₹15,120; Total ₹99,120. Payment terms: 15 days. Bank: [details].
Notice the usage licence is a separate line. Separating creation fees from rights licences makes both the brand's accounting and your future negotiations cleaner.

For brands: tell creators what you need, upfront
Publish your invoicing requirements in the campaign brief or onboarding email: legal entity name, GSTIN, PO number format, where to send invoices, and your payment-cycle calendar. A one-page 'how to invoice us' sheet eliminates 80% of payment friction.
Agencies managing rosters should generate invoices on behalf of creators with a standard template. It is the single most appreciated ops service an agency can offer talent.
The Bottom Line
A professional invoice is a creator's cheapest credibility signal. Use the format, include the reference, split the GST — and payment terms stop being a negotiation.
